You collect a bike, a helmet and lights near the Navy Memorial, ride down to the National Mall with a guide, and stop at each memorial to walk up to it. The ride covers about 4 to 5 miles in three hours, on paths and quiet roads, most of it flat.
A bike goes where a coach cannot park. You ride right round the Tidal Basin, and you stop wherever the group stops without waiting for a crowd to climb down.
