Washington Night Photo Gallery
The memorials after dark, in roughly the order an evening on the Mall runs. Weighing up a nighttime tour of washington dc? These are the places your evening takes you.
The set opens at the west end, with the columned memorial mirrored in the Reflecting Pool, and the Washington Monument against the last of the sunset. It moves through the war memorials: the World War II Memorial's fountains, and the soldiers of the Korean War Veterans Memorial lit among the junipers.
Then it turns to the Capitol dome, the domed memorial across the water, the view back from between its columns, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial at dusk. It ends at the White House, the flag raisers across the river, Georgetown's towers, and cherry trees in spring.

Plan the practical side in the visitor guide. Short reads are on the blog, and every tour is on Washington Night Tours.
