The light depends on the month
In summer, reviewers on the 7:30pm coaches and vans say the first stops came before dark. Some liked seeing a memorial by day and again lit up; others wanted the Capitol floodlit. From October to February, it is dark from the start.
Hearing the guide matters
The praise that comes back is for a guide who is easy to hear and full of stories. The complaints are a quiet voice, a failing microphone, or a speaker that echoes in a packed van.
Time on foot is short
On the coaches, a stop is often 15 to 20 minutes, and some reviewers found that short. On the private tours and the private walk, you set the stops and how long each one lasts.
Rain and road closures happen
